I started with a butter knife, a wire I found in my dads room, crazy glue, three beads I found on another piece that i would never wear and my teeth, 2 corrie shells, an earring hook from some other earrings I had. All so I can go out with some friends in downtown Dallas to the mall. I was so excited but the outfit i was wearing which did not match any jewels I had. So I went to work, I had to find something, there was no way in the world I could go anywhere without my jewelry on...
So I found the shells, I had crazy glue, the hooks, my teeth.. YESSS my teeth and I am so happy I still have most of them. I made a pair of shell earrings with green, red and yellow beads. I was so excited and I had a ball that day too.
So later that year I moved back to Chicago, many years after that I had a child, life went on and on, I got my son in school and life went on again. Now this one particular day I was getting out of my car with my son and a lady walked up to me and she asked me where did i get my earrings. I told her I designed them, (now these were very simple pieces) and she said I would like some made for my daughter, do you make jewelry. Now in my mind I know I can be very creative when I put my mind to it...another part of me SCREAMED opportunity. I said yes I do. I made her child a pair, mommy was happy, I had my 1st sale and she chose to spread the word. After that it was up hill from there. peace
